RETREATS

We’re still taking reservations for the February, Snowman Lovers Scrappin Weekend.  All the information and registration form can be found on the website, www.scrapbooksbythesea.com .  If you’re looking for something for your Santa to get you for Christmas or for a special gift for yourself, why not enjoy one of our signature 3-day weekend scrapbooks retreats!  All our retreats are “all inclusive” including your hotel room, meals, classes, door prizes and fun, fun, fun!

Watch the site too, for the information about our spring event.  The Flippin into Spring, Flip – Flop retreat is just what you need to help shake the melting snow off your antlers and where better to do it than ocean front in Myrtle Beach!  The dates are on the web site and the registration information will be posted before Christmas.

Just a note, too, our first two events of the season both sold out in record time. And, the Fifth Annual, Crazy Chocolate Crop Retreat has a long waiting list.  For those who are registered, you’re in for a special treat. The owners and designers of The Crafters Workshop out of New York will be on hand with all their new products – just ahead of the big CHA show in California.  Everyone at the retreat will see it all before the rest of the scrapbook world sees it!  Plus, they’ll be teaching classes with all their products and doing make ‘n takes in their vendor booth at the retreat.

The point is – don’t wait too long to register for one of our upcoming events.  You just never know when Lisa might just show up. Who knows, it could happen, and if you ain’t comin, you ain’t gonna see it!  Check the web site and register today.

CLASSES

Classes are every Tuesday at 6PM in the Pawleys Island store and each Thursday at 6PM in the Surfside Beach store.  Please remember to bring your basic scrapping kits (items) with you to include your trimmer, straight edge, adhesives, chalks, scissors, etc.  December’s classes will all be holiday themed and will feature some new vellum techniques and ideas, a unique nativity design plus loads of embellishments.  If you have an eyelet tool, you might want to keep that in your basic kit as well.

The November 28th class in Pawleys and the November 30th class in Surfside Beach will both be the nativity pages. This is a truly exquisite design and will start the holiday class theme off with a wonderful set of pages.

December 5th in Pawleys is Memories of Santa. This is and old fashioned country Christmas layout, timely and truly in the spirit of Christmas past.

December 7th in Surfside Beach is a Christmas Weave. We’ll use Christmas vellums that create an embellished woven design – be sure you have you eyelet tool and chalks for this one!

December 12th in Pawleys and December 14th in Surfside Beach will be White Christmas.  Our Christmas page is not with snow but with elegantly embossed and glittered white poinsettias and a fern punched plus a Christmas tree embellishment.

December 19th in  Pawleys  and December 21st in Surfside Beach will be a beautiful stained glass Christmas.  This is another elegant layout using vellums with a mauve background.  This stunning layout will cap off our Christmas season.

These are the final 8 classes at both stores for the year.  We’ll have a whole new list for January in the first edition of The Coastal Cropper at the beginning of the year. We took the time to add them up and including the retreat classes, plus regular weekly classes, special classes and workshop session we’ve presented more than 140 original, unique classes this past year.  No one offers you that many opportunities to scrap, meet new friends, learn a new technique or two plus just have some plain old fun and a little time doing what you like doing best – scrappin’ the beach and doin’ it in your bare feet if you like to!  Oops, did I say that?

WRAPPING IT UP

For more than five years we’ve had the pleasure and distinct honor to make so many  new friends and at this time of the year, Nick and I want to wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and the happiest of all New Years.  May your holiday-time be filled with and peace, love and joy that will make every moment special for each one of you.  Those are the memories that will live in your heart forever and ever.  And hey, be sure to take lots of pictures and stop by and visit either one of our shops whenever you get down by the sea!

Happy Holiday Scrappin,

Kim
