Even though it is time to think about "back to school", summer is still in full swing and so are things at Scrapbooks By The Sea! We have exciting new beach albums and vacation kits that are perfect for all of your summer memories. We have our own line of Scrapbooks By The Sea page kits, embellishments and paper piecing. These unique designs will only be found at our stores in Surfside and Pawleys Island. (Watch for these great products as well as many new lines in another location soon. Keep checking our web site for all of the latest!) Stop by our stores and get the "Best of the Beach" for your scrappin'. Remember, what happens in Myrtle Beach, shouldn't stay here, those memories need to be scrapbooked

Retreats

The October retreat is SOLD OUT.

The Crazy Chocolate Crop in January is SOLD OUT.

We are taking reservations now for the Snowman Lovers Retreat in February and for the Fabulous Flip Flop Beach Party in March. The Snowman Lovers Retreat is booking fast and there are only a few spots left. (This would make a great Christmas gift! Get your Santa busy now, because by Christmas, all of the snowflakes will be named attending will have names. Check the website, www.scrapbooksbythesea.com , or call either store for more information.

Classes

Classes for August and September are sizzlin". It is important that you bring your basic scrappin' things with you. These include adhesives, glue, trimmer, scissors, pop dots, glue dots, chalks and don't forget your glasses! We will be doing layouts with beads, glitter, wire, and lots of detail work. We will even be designing chipboard embellishments. Classes are held at the Surfside store on Monday at 6:00 and in Pawleys Island every Tuesday at 6:00.

September is going to be Completely Crazy!  The classes at the Surfside Beach store will feature a variety of techniques and different layouts. September in Pawleys Island will be Crazy Coluzzle Month. Each Tuesday we will do new things and terrific layouts using the Coluzzle system. We will create things that you never imagined could be done using templates and a knife! Please bring your Coluzzle knife, mat, and any templates that you have. (I will have specialty templates as well as the tools and regular ones to share)

If you would like to have the ones that we will be using for your collection, I will be placing an order on August 21st. The layouts using the templates are great. You will need to sign up for the Coluzzle Classes.

Cuttin' Up With Cricut

Stop by the Pawleys Island store on August 19th from 2 until 5. Learn a few tricks and fun things that you can do with Cricut. You can try your hand at using it and do a couple of "Make-n-takes" If you have not already done so, you can order one for yourself or have Santa give us a call. Scrapbooks By The Sea is now an authorized Cricut dealer.

Old Fashioned Holiday In The Village

Make plans now to join us on Saturday, September 2^nd, 2006 for A Holiday At Home celebration and porch sale at the Village Shops in Pawleys Island. All of the stores in the Village will be having special sales, there’ll be music, food and family fun all day long. Watch and listen for the ads with more details.

Labor Day

Scrapbooks By The Sea in Surfside Beach and Pawleys Island will be closed on Sunday, September 3rd and on Monday, September 4th. Enjoy your holiday. We will see you on Tuesday, September 5, 2006.

Back To School-Back To Scrappin' Crop

Reserve your seat now for Friday, September 15th. Join us from 5:00 til 11:00 for an evening of scrappin'. Seating will be limited so everyone can spread out. Everyone attending will automatically be registered for door prizes. Snacks and drinks will be provided so grab your scrappin' stuff and come on over to the Village!

Wrapping Up

We have a lot of exciting things planned for the rest of the year. Start gathering your recipes for a Great Food, Great Fun recipe book workshop and start your Christmas card list so you will be ready for an afternoon of card making. Stop by and visit with us the next time you are "down by the sea" and check out all of the fall and school lines that are starting to arrive.
